Dartmouth and Union skate to 0-0 tie

Daniel Carr '14 vs. Darmouth
Sorry it took so long for me to post. It was a long day with the Devils and club hockey today.

This 0-0 tie brings back memories for me. The first year I had season tickets to Army hockey was in the 1994-95 season. Just a few games into the season the Black Knights welcomed in this team called Union and skated to a scoreless tie... I never saw one in any hockey game ever again. When I began looking at colleges during high school my Dad mentioned Union to me, and the first thing that came to my mind was that 0-0 tie in 1994.

As a Union fan you have to be pretty happy coming home with three points while only scoring two goals on the weekend. Harvard and Dartmouth are both tough team to play, especially on the road. Keith Kinkaid had another stellar weekend and is making a name for himself in the college hockey world. He currently leads all goaltenders with at least five starts in goals-against average with 1.67. Next weekend's home-and-home series with RPI and Allen York will be a battle for goaltending supremacy in the ECAC.

It looks like Coach Leaman is trying to find the right player to play on the top line with Adam Presizniuk and Kelly Zajac. Stephane Boileau, Cole Ikkala, and others have already played on the line, and this weekend Leaman tried Carr and Jooris. Neither produced much. So who should be the third guy? Jeremy Welsh? Wayne Simpson? Who knows what Leaman is thinking. I say give Welshie a try. That trio will definitely score a ton of goals, but could weaken the rest of the lineup.

Either way, it's a very good start to league play and hopefully they keep it rolling next weekend against RPI. Even though it's the weekend before finals I urge all Union students to attend both games. You will not be disappointed! You might also witness Prez make Union history! Also, the players have finals too!
