Welcome to the Dutchmen Details, where we scour the internet for Union Hockey related news so you don't have to!
- The Dutchmen start their busy weekend tonight at UNH, squaring off against the 0-4-1 (overall) Wildcats. The New Hampshire team is 0-3-0 in the tough Hockey East conference.
- Our very own Evan Slavit provides a very nice recap of last weekend's games in this week's issue of the Concordiensis.
- For a Union-centric preview, be sure to check out UnionAthletics.com's primer. UNH owns a 4-1-0 historical record against Union. Click through for an interesting note about Union's only win against UNH, which happened back in 1977... (How's that for a cliffhanger?)
- SeacoastOnline has a feature on tonight's game with a decidedly UNH bent. Also, the UNH Athletics site has some fun facts/tidbits.
- Ken Schott predicts a 4-3 win for the Dutchmen over the Wildcats.
- Let's start the countdown for Kelly Zajac; he's only 6 points away from reaching 100 in his college career.
- UNH's site will also host a live chat tonight.
- CHN has your basic "tale of the tape," too.
- Finally, be sure to check out (and bookmark) Union's Hockey's official Tumblr. It's always a great source of information. Click here for some more information on tonight's game.
- A scary moment about a week ago for former Union goaltender Keith Kinkaid, now of the New Jersey Devils: he was cut on the neck by a skate. Luckily, he needed no stitches.
- UHB's fun fact of the day: Jim Tortorella serves as an assistant coach for New Hampshire. He is the brother of the New York Rangers head coach John Tortorella.
- Former head coach Nate Leaman (now of the Providence Friars) gets a write-up in the Bangor Daily News. Quick: let's play a word association game. When I say "Bangor, Maine," what's the first thing that pops into your head? Mine? "Julie "The Cat" Gaffney."
- Troy Grosenick's mask beat out Clarkson's Paul Karpowich's in College Hockey, Inc.'s battle of the masks. This is no shameless plug, but vote for Troy's. It's one of the coolest design's we've seen for a Union goaltender.
- Per usual, be sure to check your Twitter feeds for updates on tonight's game. Follow our buddies over at @UnionHockey.
- To stream audio from the game, this UNH broadcast should work.
- College Hockey News' Tweetcast is here.
Today's Tweet of the Day goes to Freshman Dan Ciampini who reflects on (and plays with) last night's snow:
