Union Dutchmen Ex-Files - 12/9/13

Recapping another busy weekend in Dutchmen alumni news:

D Greg Coburn (Las Vegas, ECHL) recorded his first professional assist in Las Vegas' 6-2 setback to San Francisco Sunday. Coburn also has three goals in 17 contests this season.

F T.J Fox (Denver, CHL) had a goal in Denver's 4-2 win at St. Charles Saturday. Fox has three goals and seven assists in 21 games this season.

G Troy Grosenick (Worcester, AHL) recorded a career-high 31 saves in Worcester's 2-1 shootout win at Manchester Sunday.

Grosenick, the game's first star, came through in the clutch. With the game even at 1-1 for most of the third period, he turned aside all 12 shots he faced. He then stopped another three in overtime before holding Manchester to one tally on five shootout attempts.

The 24-year-old improved to 5-2-0. He is second in the league and first among qualified rookies with 1.87 goals against average. Grosenick is tied with Norfolk's John Gibson for the rookie lead in save percentage at .928.

G Keith Kinkaid (Albany, AHL) collected a season-high 37 saves in Saturday's 3-2 shootout triumph over Binghamton.

Kinkaid, playing in his 100th career game with Albany, was especially effective late in the contest. Binghamton fired a whopping 14 shots during the five-minute overtime, but Kinkaid brushed all aside. He went on to turn back four-of-five attempts during the shootout before garnering first-star honors.

Kinkaid moved to 9-3-1 with a 2.26 goals against average and a .913 save mark.

F Trevor Mingoia (Providence, Hockey East) registered an assist in fourth-ranked Providence's 3-3 tie against 19th-ranked Northeastern Friday. Mingoia has recorded an assist in each of his first three games with the Friars.

F Wayne Simpson (South Carolina, ECHL) continues to heat up as the season goes along.

Simpson has at least one point in four of his past five games. He was named the third star in South Carolina's 5-1 win at Orlando on Saturday after picking up a goal and an assist.

Overall, he has four goals and five assists in 15 contests.

D Shawn Stuart (Drakkars, French Elite League) chipped in a helper in Drakkars' 3-1 victory over Morzine/Avoriaz Saturday. He has five assists in 13 games this season.

D Nolan Julseth-White (Las Vegas, ECHL) had two assists Sunday, tying a single-game career high. Julseth-White, an assistant captain for Las Vegas, has a goal and three assists in 20 games this season.

F Kelly Zajac (Albany, AHL) continued his strong play of late with two assists on Saturday. He was named the game's third star.

Zajac has at least a point in seven consecutive games. In that span, he has a goal and nine assists.

The 25-year-old has two goals and ten assists in 17 games this season. The ten assists are second most on the team.
