Link: Old Time Hockey! (Sans Eddie Shore)

We were going to include this in our Dutchmen Details segment for today, but this article is just too cool (no pun intended) to pass up. And oh yeah, it seems appropriate, considering the fresh blanket of snow outside. Pete Iorizzo writes one of the most fun articles we've seen in a while, chronicling the often comical history of the pre-indoor rink days of Union Hockey.

The school first dabbled in hockey in 1904. But because of weather, they played only 13 games over the next seven years. By 1909, the team was so desperate to play it scheduled games against Union's canoe and boat clubs.
