Kinkaid recalled by New Jersey

by Ryan Fay

Former Union hockey goaltender Keith Kinkaid has been recalled by New Jersey (NHL).

Kinkaid, who left the program after his sophomore season, has spent his first two professional seasons with Albany (AHL).

In 33 contests this season, the Farmingville, New York native has a 2.69 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. Albany has either won or tied 22 of Kinkaid's 33 starts.

The recall is the third NHL recall of Kinkaid's career, but netminder has yet to see NHL action. It's worth noting that New Jersey starter Martin Brodeur is currently day-to-day with a sore back.

Kinkaid's 37 wins rank second in Union Division I history.
