Coburn lands in Las Vegas

by Ryan Fay

Former Union defenseman Greg Coburn signed with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers, multiple sources indicated late Monday.

The signing gives Las Vegas three ex-Union defensemen. Two of Coburn's former Dutchmen teammates, Ryan Forgaard and Nolan Julseth-White, also play there.

Coburn, 25, most recently spent time with the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates, but he was released from his tryout on October 4.

The native of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan collected 73 points (20 goals, 53 assists) in 153 career games played with Union.

Unlike most ECHL teams, the Wranglers are unaffiliated.
