Carr finalist for best defensive forward

Union senior forward Daniel Carr is a finalist for ECAC Hockey's Best Defensive Forward award, the league announced Friday.

Carr led all conference players with a plus-19 rating in league play. He is averaging 0.68 blocks per game and is a pivotal part of Union's penalty killing unit, which finished fourth in the conference with an 84.3% success rate.

The last Union player to win the award was Kelly Zajac in 2011-2012.

The other finalists are Quinnipiac's Kellen Jones and Yale's Jesse Root.
