by Ryan Fay

New Jersey Titans 16U forward Ryan Walker has committed to the Union men's hockey team.

"Proud and excited to announce my commitment to Union College," Walker said in a tweet.

Walker, 16, is tentatively expected to join the Dutchmen for the 2016-2017 season.

The wait could be well worth it. The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder had a monster season for the Titans, registering 46 goals and 90 assists in 46 games. In one five-game stretch in late December, he piled up 11 goals and 16 assists.

"Walker is a player and a half," wrote Jasper Kozak-Miller, an editor at the recruiting website overtheboards.net. "It’s tough not to notice the cerebral, athletic player within moments of him stepping on the ice because he seems to always be generating offense, undressing a defenseman, or making life hell on the forecheck. [He] plays with a ton of engagement."

Walker is expected to play with the North American Hockey League's Amarillo Bulls next season.

The Spottswood, New Jersey native joins a growing list of current and future Dutchmen from the Garden State. Junior forward Max Novak and his younger brother Wade, a 2016-2017 recruit, hail from Oak Ridge, N.J. Junior defenseman Charlie Vasaturo is from Sewell, N.J, while incoming forward Roman Ammirato comes from Williamstown, N.J. Cole Maier, a 2015-2016 recruit, is from Pequannock, N.J.
