Dutchmen fall out of USCHO.com poll

by Ryan Fay

For the fifth consecutive week, Union dropped in the USCHO.com top-20 poll.

In fact, the Dutchmen have now dropped out of the poll altogether. They had been ranked in 29 consecutive polls dating back to Nov. 11, 2013.

Union began the season 5-0, and spent three weeks at No. 2 in the poll. But the slide down and out of the poll was triggered by a 2-6-1 stretch, including an 8-2 drubbing at the hands of unranked Western Michigan in Saturday's Shillelagh Tournament championship game.

Union remains unranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine top-15 poll. The Dutchmen didn't receive a single vote in this week's poll, a first this season.

The Dutchmen will look to right the ship this weekend when they travel to Brown (Dec. 5) and Yale (Dec. 6) for a pair of ECAC Hockey contests.
