Hayden hit Union defenseman Jeff Taylor in the head with just over three minutes left in the third period of Yale's 2-0 win over the Dutchmen on Friday at Messa Rink.

Taylor was left with a cut over his left eye and missed the rest of the game. No penalty was called. Hayden later scored an empty-net goal in the closing minute to seal Yale's win.

Union head coach Rick Bennett said after the game that Taylor should be "good to go" moving forward.

Hayden will miss tonight's game at RPI.

  1. In a situation like that the on ice officials should be disciplined if the player is suspended but there is no penalty call on the ice.
