by Ryan Fay

Union senior winger Daniel Ciampini signed an amateur tryout contract with the American Hockey League's Worcester Sharks on Wednesday.

He'll make his debut tonight at 7 when Worcester hosts Hershey.

Ciampini appeared in 39 games for Union this past season, leading the team in goals with 26 and finishing tied with Mike Vecchione for the team lead in points with 50. The 50 points tied a single-season program record, originally set last year by Daniel Carr.

Overall, Ciampini played in 131 career games with the Dutchmen. The Concord, Ontario native finished second in program history with 63 goals and fifth with 118 points.

The signing reunites the 24-year-old with Worcester goalie Troy Grosenick, who spent two seasons as Ciampini's teammate on Union.

Ciampini will wear No. 25 with Worcester. He wore No. 17 during his Union career, but it wasn't available.
