It was announced today that Union Head Coach Nate
Leaman was named the
ECAC Tim Ta
ylor Coach of the Year. He beat out Yale's Keith
Allain, St. Lawrence's Joe Marsh, and Colgate's Don Vaughan.
Leaman becomes the third coach in Union history to win the award. The others are Bruce
Deventhal (1994) and Stan Moore (1997). For more on
Leaman's selection check out
ECAC Hockey.com and
Times Union.com.
Leaman certainly deserves this honor. He has brought Union College Hockey from the joke of the ECAC to a nationally ranked team. Hopefully, the Union Athletic department can convince him to stick around for a very long time and work out an extension once the season is over. His contract currently runs through the 2011-12 season.
