Incoming freshman Andrew Johnston signs with the Philadelphia Flyers

It totally went in (unconfirmed)

We hardly knew ye. Incoming freshman Andrew Johnston has been signed by the Flyers.

Andrew Johnston (20 years old, 6'1 178lbs) played LW this year with the Humboldt Broncos in the Saskatchewan Junior hockey League, putting up 81 points (29g, 52a) in 58 games.  In the playoffs, Johnston put up 14 points (10g, 4a) in 16 games.

Johnston did not "choose Union not solely on their hockey program, but their school as a whole."  Even without hockey, Johnston could be going to Union on academics alone with his "1800 SAT score."  From broadstreethockey, "Johnston planned on attending Union this upcoming fall unless an NHL team came calling. Welp."  Well said.  It's unfortunate for us that he won't be putting on a Union uni next year, as he's being paid and is thus ineligible for NCAA play.  The details of his deal are in the comment section below.
