- Union, after starting at #5/5 in the polls, fell to 9/10 in the USA Today and USCHO polls, respectively. They look to climb back towards BC's lofty perch tonight. Ferris State, Union's foe from last year, is 11th in the polls.
- The BGSU Falcons (mascot, Freddie Falcon) are 0-0-1 to start the season. The last time they faced the Dutchmen was October 23, 2004. At Messa Rink, the Dutchmen fell 1-0. Current Freshmen were 11 years old, and presumably distraught over the loss.
