Grosenick on his way out of town?

by Ryan Fay

There are multiple reports that junior goaltender Troy Grosenick could give up his senior year of eligibility and sign with the San Jose Sharks organization.

Grosenick, who turns 24 this summer, had a 2.12 goals against average and a .926 save percentage in 34 contests this past season. Should he leave, sophomore Colin Stevens would likely take over the starting gig. Stevens had a 1.62 goals against average and a .931 save percentage in 13 games.

If Grosenick leaves, Union would be down to two goaltenders, Stevens and sophomore Dillon Pieri. Goalie recruit Joe Young, believed to be a 2014 commit, could possibly come a year early. Young, who turns 19 later this month, posted a 2.71 goals against average and a .907 save percentage for the EJHL Boston Junior Bruins this past season.

More as it breaks.
