Recruits picked in USHL draft

Men's hockey recruits Mark Dufour and Michael Pontarelli were selected in this week's United States Hockey League (USHL) entry draft.

Cedar Rapids drafted Dufour, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound forward in the tenth round (140th overall). The 17-year-old recently completed a four-year career at Kents Hill Prep in Kent's Hill, Maine. Final regular season stats weren't available, but as a junior, he paced the team with 37 points (23 goals, 14 assists) in 28 games played. Dufour will arrive at Union in either 2014 or 2015.

Pontarelli was selected by Muskegon in the fifth round (63rd overall). The 19-year-old led the Central Canada Hockey League in scoring this past season with 107 points (52 goals, 55 assists) in 53 games playedHe is slated to arrive at Union in 2014.
