Ex-Union standouts Troy Grosenick and Josh Jooris could be facing off against each other in the upcoming Young Stars Classic.
The round-robin tournament will showcase prospects from the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks and Winnipeg Jets. It will be held September 5-9 in Penticton, British Columbia.
Grosenick, who signed with San Jose in April, and Jooris, who agreed to terms with Calgary in July, are included on the tournament rosters for their respective organizations. The Sharks prospects take on the Flames prospects on September 8 at 8:30 pm (ET).
Grosenick posted a 39-16-9 record over three seasons with Union, setting program records in career goals against average (1.89) and save percentage (.930).
Joors appeared in 117 games in three seasons with the Dutchmen. He scored 29 goals and added 59 assists.
