Dutchmen drop in polls

by Ryan Fay

After splitting its two games over the weekend, Union fell in college hockey polls released Monday.

The Dutchmen (13-4-3 overall, 9-2-0 ECAC) fell two spots to sixth in the USCHO top 20 poll and one spot to sixth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine top 15 poll.

Union, playing in its first game in nearly a month, lost 2-1 at Quinnipiac on Friday. The defeat resulted in Quinnipiac jumping into first place ahead of Union. The Dutchmen rebounded at Princeton on Saturday, blanking the Tigers 3-0.

Union returns to action this weekend with a two-game non-conference series at New Hampshire on Friday and Saturday. The Wildcats were ranked 17th in the USCHO poll and received votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
