RPI forward Jake Wood was suspended for two games by ECAC Hockey on Tuesday for his hit late in Saturday's 8-3 setback to Union in the Mayor's Cup game.
At the 19:13 mark of the third period, Wood checked Union defenseman Charlie Vasaturo from behind and into the crossbar of Union's net. The hit left Vasaturo bloodied, and Wood was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
Wood will miss RPI's next two games – Jan. 30 at Dartmouth and Feb. 6 at St. Lawrence.
