HAMILTON, N.Y. – Union's offensive struggles continued Friday with a 2-0 ECAC Hockey loss to Colgate at Starr Rink.

The defeat marked the third straight game that the Dutchmen were held without a goal, the longest such streak in their 24 seasons as a Division I team. The drought comes on the heels of a stretch where Union (14-15-2 overall, 6-12-1 ECACH) scored in 98 consecutive contests.

Union's last tally came when Ryan Scarfo scored with 1:01 left in a 7-1 loss at St. Lawrence on Feb. 7, a span of 181 minutes, one second.

The Raiders (16-11-3, 8-7-3) notched the only goal they needed 53 seconds into the opening period. Kyle Baun stole the puck at mid-ice and began a two-on-one rush with Tyson Spink, who finished it when he beat Union goalie Colin Stevens glove-side.

Colgate extended its lead to 2-0 at 14:05 after Joe Wilson's shot from along the goal line bounced off Stevens' pads and into the back of the net.

Union nearly scored midway through the second when Connor Light's shot off the left boards ricocheted past Raiders netminder Charlie Finn. But the goal was waived off after Union was ruled offsides.

Finn finished with 35 saves en route to recording his NCAA-best sixth shutout of the season.

Stevens had 26 saves for Union, which will look to snap a four-game losing streak when it travels to Cornell tonight at 7.
