"Proud to announce my commitment to Union College," Cmunt tweeted. "Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way!"
Cmunt has one goal in two games with the Phantoms, who drafted him in the eighth round (113rd overall) of the 2014 USHL Futures Draft.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder was called up to the team after spending most of the season with the Ontario Junior Hockey League's Buffalo Junior Sabres, where he had five goals and 21 assists in 51 contests.
