Foo named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month

Union freshman forward Spencer Foo was named ECAC Hockey's Rookie of the Month for March, the league announced Wednesday.

He was the league's co-leader in points by a freshman during the month with two goals and two assists in five games.

Foo had two goals in Union's 7-0 series-clinching win over Cornell in the opening round of the ECACH tournament on March 7. He followed with a pair of assists in Union's 4-3 triple overtime loss to Quinnipiac in game one of the ECACH quarterfinals on March 13.

Foo finished the season first among Union freshmen in scoring with 11 goals and 14 assists in 39 games. His plus-9 rating also paced Union freshmen. He was selected to the ECACH All-Rookie team last month.
