Former Union goaltender Troy Grosenick has re-signed with the San Jose Sharks, media reports indicated late Thursday.

Grosenick, who was a restricted free agent, signed a two-year deal worth a total of $1.2 million. It's a two-way contract for the first season and a one-way deal for the second.

Grosenick spent the bulk of last season with the Worcester Sharks, San Jose's then-current American Hockey League affiliate. He went 20-13-3 with a 2.63 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in 36 contests with Worcester.

The 25-year-old also appeared in two games with San Jose. He made his NHL debut on Nov. 16 when he posted a 45-save shutout in a 2-0 win over Carolina. The performance set an NHL record for the most saves for a goalie debuting with a shutout.

The Brookfield, Wisconsin native starred for Union from 2010-13 and remains the program's career leader in GAA (1.89) and save percentage (.930). He gave up his senior season when he signed with San Jose in April 2013.
