Shenae Lundberg recorded 35 saves but it wasn't enough as tenth-ranked Quinnipiac edged Union 1-0 Saturday at Messa Rink.
The game remained scoreless well into the third. Quinnipiac forward Amanda Colin scored the game's only goal at 15:45 when sent a wrist shot from the slot past Lundberg. Nicole Connery and Nicole Brown assisted on the game-winning tally.
Union was outshot 36-11 and failed to register a shot on goal in the decisive third period. The 11 shots tied Union's season low previously set in a 4-1 loss at Princeton on December 7.
Quinnipiac (16-3-5 overall, 7-3-4 ECAC) goaltender Chelsea Laden picked up 11 saves to earn her sixth shutout of the season while lowering her goals against average to 1.22.
The loss snapped Union's three game (2-0-1) unbeaten streak.
Union (8-13-1, 3-7-0) returns to action next weekend with a home-and-home series with Route 7 rival Rensselaer. The series opens at Rensselaer on Friday at 7 p.m. before concluding with a 4 p.m. tilt at Messa Rink on Saturday.
Saturday's contest will be Union's seventh annual Pink at the Rink game.
