The Union men's hockey team will play in the inaugural Frozen Holiday Classic, Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment announced Monday.
Union's involvement appears to be a one-year deal. Yale will replace Union in 2015, making the tournament an all-Connecticut affair.
The Most Valuable Player of the Frozen Holiday Classic will be awarded the Tim Taylor Trophy. Taylor coached at Yale for 28 seasons before retiring in 2006 with a school record 337 wins. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 71.
Ticket prices and availability will be announced at a later date.
Union played NCAA Tournament games at the Webster Bank Arena in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
