Cyclones sign ex-Dutchmen Sullivan

by Ryan Fay

Former Union forward Kevin Sullivan signed with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones for the 2014-2015 season, the team announced Tuesday.

Sullivan
Sullivan, who recently spent time in Boston Bruins rookie camp, played for Union from 2010-2014. He collected 23 goals and 54 assists in 132 career games for the Dutchmen. He had nine goals and 29 assists last season, including a late third period goal against Minnesota in the national championship game that helped give the Dutchmen their first NCAA championship.

“Kevin comes in with a solid college career under his belt,” said Cyclones head coach Matt Macdonald. “Coming off of a championship season, he knows the type of commitment it takes to succeed and we’re excited to help him make the jump to the pro game.”

Sullivan, 23, will be the second recent Union standout to play for the Cyclones. Forward Kyle Bodie briefly played there last year; he's now with the Reading Royals.
