Martin lands in the BCHL

by Ryan Fay

Former Union men's hockey defenseman Griffyn Martin has found a new hockey home.

Martin
Martin, who left Union last month, has joined the Trail Smoke Eaters of the British Columbia Hockey League. Their next game is Friday at home against Cowichan Valley.

Martin appeared in two games as a freshman for Union last season, Oct. 25 at Connecticut and Feb. 1 at Clarkson. The 20-year-old didn't register a point.

Before coming to Union, Martin was slated to play for Yale. But the Avon Old Farms product decommitted after the Bulldogs wanted him to play a year of junior hockey and arrive this fall, a year later than originally planned.
