PRINCETON, N.J. – Union extended its winning streak in ECAC Hockey play to four games with a 5-2 win over Princeton Friday at Hobey Baker Rink.

Union got three points apiece from Hobey Baker Award nominees Daniel Ciampini and Mike Vecchione. Ciampini, who recorded two goals and an assist, extended his goal-scoring streak to six games and moved within four points of 100 for his career. Vecchione scored two or more points for a nation-high 11th time this season with a goal and two assists.

Dutchmen goalie Colin Stevens recorded 25 saves and picked up his 46th career win to tie Kris Mayotte for the program's Division I era goalie wins record.

After a scoreless first period, the Dutchmen (4-4-1 ECACH, 11-7-2 overall) went ahead 2-0 with a pair of tallies in the second. Vecchione opened the scoring at 6:23 and Ciampini added a power-play goal at 15:01.

The Dutchmen grew their lead to 4-0 in the third. Matt Wilkins notched a short-handed goal 21 seconds into the frame and Ciampini buried his second goal of the night and team-best 13th of the season just under six minutes later.

Princeton, which had been blanked in its last three games, cut Union's lead to 4-2 after Ryan Berlin and Tucker Brockett scored less than two minutes apart. Berlin snapped the Tigers' (1-10, 2-13-1) goal drought at 258 minutes, 43 seconds with a tally at 8:40. Brockett registered a power-play goal at 10:35.

But Union iced the win after Ryan Scarfo lit the lamp at 16:44.

The Dutchmen resume play tonight at 15th-ranked Quinnipiac. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
