Carr among six promoted to Montreal

by Ryan Fay

Former Union forward Daniel Carr was among six members of the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs promoted to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.

Carr
Carr had 15 assists and a team-high 24 goals in 76 games for the Bulldogs, whose season ended on Saturday. He was named AHL Rookie of the Month for February.

Joining Carr in Montreal are goaltender Mike Condon, defensemen Darren Dietz and Brett Lernout, as well as forwards Charles Hudon and Christian Thomas.

The six will arrive in Montreal on Monday and will practice with the team beginning on Tuesday. Barring injuries, it's a long shot that any of the six will play for Montreal this season. The Canadiens currently have a 2-0 best-of-seven series lead over Ottawa in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
