Union freshman goaltender Jake Kupsky was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Kupsky earned his first career win and first career shutout in his collegiate debut on Saturday. He stopped all 26 shots he faced to lead Union to a 2-0 victory over Maine at Messa Rink.

With the shutout, he became the first Dutchmen goaltender to record one in his debut during the program's Division I era. The win also helped 18th-ranked Union (2-0-2) extend its unbeaten streak to four games.

Kupsky is the program's first freshman goaltender to be named ECACH Goaltender of the Week since Keith Kinkaid on Feb. 22, 2010.
