Carr recalled by Canadiens

by Ryan Fay

The Montreal Canadiens recalled former Union star Daniel Carr from their American Hockey League affiliate, the St. John's IceCaps, on Thursday.

The call-up marks Carr's second career stint with the Canadiens. He appeared in 17 games with the team earlier this season, recording five goals and two assists.

Carr was sent down to the IceCaps on Jan. 15 and had two goals and a pair of assists in three contests.

The 24-year-old will join Montreal for Friday morning's practice before the team departs for Saturday night's game at Toronto.

The recall means Carr will miss what would have been a homecoming of sorts. The IceCaps are scheduled to play a two-game series against the Albany Devils this weekend at the Times Union Center.
