Foo on Hobey Baker Award fan ballot

Union sophomore forward Spencer Foo is one of 66 players on the fan ballot for the Hobey Baker Award, it was announced Wednesday. The award is given annually to the top player in college hockey.

Foo has appeared in all 23 games for the Dutchmen this season and leads the team in scoring with 11 goals and 12 assists. He shares the club lead in game-winning goals with two.

The fans' vote accounts for one percent of the total ballot in each phase in selecting this year's award winner.

The first phase of fan balloting will run now through March 6, 2016. The second phase of fan balloting will commence on March 17 from the list of the top 10 finalists.

The top 10 candidates will be reduced to three on March 31, and the winner will be named on April 8.
