The contest was Union's nation-high 11th overtime game of the season. In those games, Union has gone 2-2-7. The seven ties match Notre Dame for the most draws in the country.

The Dutchmen are also one overtime appearance away from matching their single-season program record of 12, set in 2009-10.

With Brown leading 2-1, Supinski put in a rebound of a Mike Vecchione shot at 19:24 of the second to bring Union even. The goal was his sixth of the season.

Union netminder Alex Sakellaropoulos made 13 stops in the third and two more in overtime to preserve the tie. He finished with 31 saves overall.

The Dutchmen took a 1-0 lead at 5:27 of the first on a tally from J.C. Brassard. But just over eight minutes later, Nick Lappin buried a rebound and tied the game at 1-1 with his 100th career point.

The Bears (2-10-3 ECACH, 4-13-4 overall) went ahead 2-1 at 5:53 of the second on a goal from Andrew Doane.

The Dutchmen (3-7-4, 10-9-7) fired a season-high 40 shots on goal, but Bears goalie Tim Ernst came up big with 38 saves.

Union returns to action next Friday with an ECACH matchup against Clarkson at Messa Rink. Gametime is 7 p.m.
