Vidmar honored by ECAC Hockey

Union freshman forward Sebastian Vidmar was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month for December, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Vidmar had two goals and two assists in four games to help Union go 3-0-1 during the month. His four points were tied for the most by an ECACH freshman.

Vidmar scored his first collegiate goal in a 4-4 tie with then eighth-ranked Harvard on Dec. 4 and chipped in an assist in a 3-0 win over Dartmouth the next night.

He notched his first multi-point game of the season in a dramatic 4-3 overtime win over Massachuttes on Dec. 11. He recorded the game-winning goal with nine seconds left in the extra session and also had an assist.

In 13 games this season, Vidmar has two goals and three assists.
