Henry leaves Dutchmen

by Ryan Fay

Union junior defenseman Noah Henry has left the team, Dutchmen coach Rick Bennett said following Friday's 4-1 loss to Clarkson.

Bennett said Henry's departure was due to a "family decision," but didn't elaborate further.

Henry had a goal and five assists in 24 games this season. In 87 career contests, he had two goals and 13 assists.

His departure leaves Union with seven defensemen: J.C. Brassard, Greg Campbell, Nick DeSimone, Sebastien Gingras, Matt Krug, Connor Light, and Jeff Taylor. Krug hasn't played all season.

But Bennett didn't express concern about the Dutchmen's remaining depth on the blueline.

“[Forward] Theo Di Pauli’s gone back on ‘D’ for practices," Bennett said. "Now, we have eight ‘D.’ If you ask me about depth, it hasn’t changed.”

When asked if there was a chance Henry could return next season, Bennett said he wasn't sure.

“I have absolutely no idea,” he said. “Noah Henry’s not with us. We wish him well, and that’s the end of it.”
